Pyramid Hill, VIC Aussie Towns

Pyramid Hill is a small town south of the Murray River. It primary interest lies in the remarkable granite outcrops which are dotted throughout the area. Apart from the outcrop which gives the town its name there is also Bald Rock in Terrick Terrick State Park and Mount Hope, named by Major Thomas Mitchell as he explored the area.

Pyramid Hill is a rural township between Bendigo and Kerang, 90 km north of Bendigo. The hill is 3 km east of the township, and it was described as 'a triangular pyramid, and, being quite isolated, it closely resembled the monuments of Egypt' by Thomas Mitchell, Surveyor-General of New South Wales.
